Never overload your machine. Take heavy comforters and blankets to your local laundromat.
Always try to make 3 wash loads out of 2. This will help keep your machine from breaking down. Overloading can cause a number of issues including the belt, motor, coupling wear and off balance loads. Between loads, allow your machine to set for at least a half hour to allow motor to cool off. Running machine load after load will shorten the life of your motor. Replace your 2 water inlet hoses at least every 2 years. Just like anything else manmade, they can wear out. Ignoring this important issue, can result in flooding of your home. It's like an insurance policy than can help save your home from horrific damage. When the above parts wear, you will notice your clothes not getting as clean, and/or not being spun dry completely, leaving water in your clothes, and this can also cause long drying times in your dryer.
